Ford Freestyle: How to Open Trunk

If you have a Ford Freestyle, you know how much space it has for storage. But you have to know how to open the tailgate. The tailgate gives you access to the trunk area, but how do you open it?

2005 – 2009 Models

From Outside Your Vehicle

1. Press and hold the unlock icon on your keyfob for 3 seconds. This unlocks all doors, including the trunk.
2. Go to the vehicle’s rear and pull the trunk release handle on the trunk towards you.

From Inside Your Vehicle

1. On the driver’s door is a panel with a lock and unlock button. Press the unlock button to unlock all doors, including the trunk.
2. Go to the vehicle’s rear and pull the trunk release handle on the trunk towards you.

Ford started producing the Freestyle in 2005. In 2007, they revised the model and marketed the truck as the Ford Taurus X for the 2008 and 2009 model years. The company stopped production of this vehicle in 2009.
