Ford F-150: Connect a Phone

Wireless technology enables phones and other devices to connect. It can even link a phone to a speakerphone device. This can also be done with Microsoft SYNC technology. The SYNC in your Ford F-150 grants access to GPS, music streaming, and Bluetooth technology from your phone.

Here is how to connect your smartphone to your Ford F-150:

2017 – 2022 Models

1. Check that the Bluetooth feature on your mobile device is turned on.
2. Make sure that your Ford F-150 is powered on and in park.
3. On your SYNC multimedia system, navigate to and tap the Phone 📞 icon.
4. Your mobile device may now find the system and provide you with a personal identification number (PIN).
5. Choose your Ford SYNC system from the available Bluetooth devices on your mobile device list.
6. The two should pair, and your SYNC screen will ask to confirm the request to pair.
7. The Bluetooth connection between your mobile device and the Ford SYNC system should now be established.

2012 – 2016 Models

1. Start your Ford F-150 and ensure your Bluetooth is activated.
2. Go to your smartphone’s settings and click on the settings option.
3. Turn on the Bluetooth to make it discoverable by other devices.
4. Press the MEDIA button on your dash twice.
5. Press the button that corresponds to Device, then Add.
6. On your device, tap on SYNC.
7. Ensure that the PINs match, then press Yes on your Ford’s dash and Pair on your device.
8. After a moment, your device should be paired with your SYNC.
