Here’s a step-by-step guide to opening the hood of a Ford Bronco.

1995 – 1996 & 2021 – 2023 Models

1. Locate the hood release lever located on the driver’s side of the dashboard, near the bottom of the steering column.
2. Pull the hood release lever. You should hear a “click” indicating the hood release mechanism has been disengaged.
3. Exit the vehicle and go to the front of the hood.
4. Locate the hood latch mechanism at the front center of the hood, just above the Ford emblem.
5. Reach under the hood and feel for the hood latch mechanism facing downwards.
6. Pull the release lever while simultaneously lifting the hood. This should release the hood from its latch and allow it to open fully.
7. Use the prop rod to support the hood in its open position. The prop rod is on the engine bay’s left side, towards the front.
