Here’s a step-by-step guide to opening the hood of a Ford Bronco.
1995 – 1996 & 2021 – 2023 Models
- Locate the hood release lever located on the driver’s side of the dashboard, near the bottom of the steering column.
- Pull the hood release lever. You should hear a “click” indicating the hood release mechanism has been disengaged.
- Exit the vehicle and go to the front of the hood.
- Locate the hood latch mechanism at the front center of the hood, just above the Ford emblem.
- Reach under the hood and feel for the hood latch mechanism facing downwards.
- Pull the release lever while simultaneously lifting the hood. This should release the hood from its latch and allow it to open fully.
- Use the prop rod to support the hood in its open position. The prop rod is on the engine bay’s left side, towards the front.
