Chevy Equinox: How to Program Radio Stations

Programming radio stations in a Chevy Equinox can seem difficult at first, but no worries we got you covered. Using the image which suits your vehicle, follow the uncomplicated steps below to program your favorite stations.

2018 – 2023 Models

  1. Place your vehicle in the ON position without running the engine.
  2. Turn on the radio.
  3. Tap Audio.
  4. Select Radio.
  5. Tune in to a favorite radio station.
  6. Tap and hold the respective screen button at the bottom right to add that station to your favorites. You’ll hear a beep to confirm the addition of the station to your favorites.
  7. Repeat the above steps to add more stations to your favorites.

**In addition, there are 5 slides to add more favorite stations.

2011 – 2017 Models

  1. Ensure your car is in the ON position, but the engine isn’t running.
  2. Turn on the radio.
  3. Press the Home button.
  4. Press Audio.
  5. Select Radio.
  6. Tune in to a favorite radio station.
  7. Press and hold 1 to set the radio station as the first option on your favorite list. Wait for two beeps to confirm the preset station.
  8. Tune to the next favorite, and then press and hold 2.
  9. Repeat the process until you’ve added six favorite stations to your home screen.

2005-2010 Models


  1. With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine. 
  2. On the screen, touch the AUDIO icon.
  3. Touch RADIO.
  4. Touch and HOLD an available number from the slide area to save the station.
  5. You will hear a BEEP to confirm your preset. 

*Repeat the steps to add more favorites.

Additional Options

For a Choice of Stations To Add:

  1. Touch BROWSE.
  2. Use the MENU knob to scroll through stations, or use the UP and DOWN arrows.
  3. Touch a station, then touch the UP arrow at the bottom of the screen to add.

To Manage/Delete Your Favorite Stations:

  1. Touch the HOME button, then SETTINGS
  2. Touch RADIO, then MANAGE FAVORITES. Here you will see 3 rows of all the stations you have saved.
  3. Touch a station you no longer want saved, then touch DELETE in the bottom right corner.
  4. To rename a station, touch RENAME in the center of the toolbar.

**NOTE: If you are unable to program your favorite stations on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.

    I no longer have the free trial for Sirius. But all the presets are still there.
    I’d like them to just disappear!
