Dodge Durango: How to Reset Stereo System

Almost every driver uses the radio or stereo system while driving. Sometimes a stereo system experiences hiccups. Below are directions for resetting the stereo system of a Dodge Durango.

Note: Completing a stereo reset will erase any saved radio stations or paired phones. You will need to reset the stations and pair phones again when starting the car.

2014 – 2023 Models

Fuses

  1. Open the hood. The fuse box is located on the left side of the engine compartment.
  2. Press the clips on the lid.
  3. Lift the lid off the fuse box.
  4. The lid has a diagram labeling each fuse. Check fuse F67.
  5. If the fuses are burnt, replace them with new ones.
  6. Replace the lid and clip it shut.

Hard Reset

  1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the terminal with a socket wrench. Make sure the cable is not touching the battery or terminal.
  3. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the terminal with a socket wrench. Make sure the cable is not touching the battery or terminal.
  4. Let the car sit for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Reconnect the cables to the battery again.

2011 – 2013 Models

Fuses

  1. Open the hood. The fuse box is located on the left side of the engine compartment.

  3. Lift the lid off the fuse box.
  4. The lid has a diagram labeling each fuse. Check fuse M12.
  5. If the fuses are burnt, replace them with new ones.
  6. Replace the lid and clip it shut.

Hard Reset

  1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the terminal with a socket wrench. Make sure the cable is not touching the battery or terminal.
  3. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the terminal with a socket wrench. Make sure the cable is not touching the battery or terminal.
  4. Let the car sit for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Reconnect the cables to the battery again.

2005 – 2009 Models

Fuses

  1. Open the driver’s side door. The fuse box is located behind an access panel under the dash, near the door frame.
  2. Remove the snap-in cover.
  3. Lift the lid off the fuse box.
  4. The lid has a diagram labeling each fuse. Check fuse F7.
  5. If the fuses are burnt, replace them with new ones.
  6. Replace the lid and snap it shut.

Hard Reset

  1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the terminal with a socket wrench. Make sure the cable is not touching the battery or terminal.
  3. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the terminal with a socket wrench. Make sure the cable is not touching the battery or terminal.
  4. Let the car sit for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Reconnect the cables to the battery again.

1997 – 2004 Models

Hard Reset

  1. Open the hood of the vehicle.
  2. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the terminal with a socket wrench. Make sure the cable is not touching the battery or terminal.
  3. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the terminal with a socket wrench. Make sure the cable is not touching the battery or terminal.
  4. Let the car sit for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Reconnect the cables to the battery again.

If none of these options fix the issue, please take your car to a certified mechanic or dealership.
