No one buys a car without the intention to use the trunk. Sometimes it can be confusing to find the button for opening the trunk. Below are directions for opening the trunk of a Dodge Durango.

2010 – 2023 Models
Manually (No Power Liftgate)
- Unlock the car using the fob.
- Pull on the handle next to the license plate and lift it open.
Passive Entry
- If your fob has a Passive Entry transmitter, have the fob within 3 ft. of the trunk.
- Press the button on the right side of the chrome accent bar.
- Lift the trunk open.
Fob (With Power Liftgate)
- Press the liftgate button on the fob 2x.
- The liftgate will open on its own.
Inside the Vehicle (With Power Liftgate)
- Press the liftgate button on the center overhead console.
- The liftgate will open on its own.
Manually (With Power Liftgate)
- Pull on the handle next to the license plate.
- The liftgate will open on its own.
2006 – 2008 Models
Fob (No Power Liftgate)
- Press the liftgate button on the fob 2x.
- Pull on the handle next to the license plate and lift it open.
Manually (No Power Liftgate)
- Unlock the car using the fob.
- Pull on the handle next to the license plate and lift it open.
Fob (With Power Liftgate)
- Press the liftgate button on the fob twice.
- The liftgate will open on its own.
Inside the Vehicle (With Power Liftgate)
- Press the liftgate button on the center overhead console.
- The liftgate will open on its own.
Manually (With Power Liftgate)
- Pull on the handle next to the license plate and lift it open.
- The liftgate will open on its own.
1997 – 2005 Models
- Unlock the car using the fob.
- Pull on the handle next to the license plate and lift it open.
or
- Insert key into locking mechanism.
- Unlock the liftgate.
- Pull the handle and lift the trunk open.
