Most cars require gas to go anywhere. If the tank is empty, it will not start. Filling the tank with gas means opening the fuel door. This is something that anyone who drives a car should know how to do. For most, opening the fuel door is as natural as breathing air. However, sometimes the process changes from car brand to car brand.
Below are the directions for opening or releasing the fuel door on a Dodge Avenger.
2008 – 2014 Models
- Walk to the rear of the vehicle.
- Locate the fuel door.
- Insert finger under the raised lip on the fuel door.
- Pull open the fuel door. The door will remain open without anything to prop it open.
1995 – 2000 Models
- Locate the button on the lower left-hand side of the dash.
- Push the button.
- Walk to the fuel door.
- Pull it open.
Closing the Fuel Door: Closing the fuel door is easy. Push the door closed. There is no lock or latch to engage. The door will remain closed until the next time you open it.
