Chrysler 200 & 300: How to Open the Hood

Car owners/drivers should know how to open the hood to perform simple maintenance tasks. Below are directions on how to open the hood of a Chrysler 200 and 300.

300 Models

2020 – 2023 Models

1. Pull the hood release lever under the dash below the steering wheel.
2. Exit the vehicle and walk to the front.
3. Slide your hand under the hood near the center.
4. Push the safety catch to the left.
5. Lift the hood.

2005 – 2019 Models

1. Pull the hood release lever under the dash below the steering wheel.
2. Exit the vehicle and walk to the front.
3. Slide your hand under the hood near the center.
4. Push the safety catch to the left.
5. Lift the hood.
6. Use the hood prop to keep the hood open.

200 Models

2015 – 2017 Models

1. Pull the hood release lever under the dash below the steering wheel.
2. Exit the vehicle and walk to the front.
3. Slide your hand under the hood near the center.
4. Push the safety catch to the right.
5. Lift the hood.

2011 – 2014 Models

1. Pull the hood release lever under the dash below the steering wheel.
2. Exit the vehicle and walk to the front.
3. Slide your hand under the hood near the center.
4. Push the safety catch up.
5. Lift the hood.
6. Use the hood prop to keep the hood open.
