How to Open the Trunk
There are definitely two ways to open the trunk of an Impala… some even say there are three! Here’s how to get in:
2013 – 2023 Models
- Press the trunk open button on your keyfob with the image of a car with an open trunk.
OR
- Locate the key slot on your trunk lid.
- Insert your key and turn the key clockwise.
2006 – 2012 Models
Method 1
- Have a look at the factory key fob, and click the center button (see image above).
- You should hear a “clunk.”
- Move to the rear of the car. The trunk will be jarred. Pull up on the lid lightly. It should stay up from a hydraulic bar on the right.
- When you’re finished, pull down on the lid lightly with one hand while supporting it with the other.
- When the lid is a few inches from being closed, press down firmly, and the lid will clunk shut.
Method 2
- Look to the left of the steering wheel; there’s a set of buttons and knobs on a panel.
- Click the button with the car icon. It’s on the upper right side of the panel (see the image above).
- You should hear a “clunk.”
- Move to the rear of the car; the trunk will be jarred. Pull up on the lid lightly. It should stay up from a hydraulic bar on the right.
- When you’re finished, pull down lightly with one hand while supporting with the other.
- When the lid is a few inches from being closed, press down firmly, and the lid will clunk shut.
NOTE: The third method is entering the trunk from inside the car. Find instructions on how to do this by clicking here!
