Chevy Equinox: Reset Stereo System

When a stereo system malfunctions, you can’t access radio, navigation alerts from Google, message alerts, or a Bluetooth connection. If you’re struggling with resetting the stereo system on your Chevy Equinox, use this step-by-step guide.

2019 – 2022 Models

1. On the car’s display, go to the Home menu, then click on Settings.
2. Scroll down until you get to Return to Factory Settings.
3. Click on the option Restore Vehicle Settings or Restore Radio Settings.
4. Next, hold the Home button for about ten seconds to initiate a reset.
5. Check if the stereo system has reset.

2014 – 2018 Models

1. Press the Home button on the car display system.
2. Go to Settings, then select the Systems tab.
3. At the bottom of this page, select Return to Factory Settings.
4. The stereo system will revert to stock settings.

2007 – 2013 Models

1. Turn on the ignition.
2. Press then hold the HR button.
3. Press the hold the min button.
4. Check if the stereo system has reset.
