Cadillac Escalade: How to Reset Stereo System

If your stereo is giving your grief, it may be time to reset it. Follow the instructions below to get your stereo system back in business.

2021 – 2023 Models

  1. Turn the ignition to the “On” position without starting the engine.
  2. Turn on the stereo by pressing the “Power” button.
  3. Press the “Home” button on the touchscreen display.
  4. Navigate to the “Settings” option using the touchscreen display, then select it by tapping on it.
  5. Scroll to the “System” option and select it by tapping on it.
  6. Scroll to the “Factory Reset” option and select it by tapping on it.
  7. Select “Yes” to confirm that you want to reset the stereo to its factory settings.
  8. Wait for the stereo to reset, which may take a few seconds. You should see a message on the screen indicating the reset was successful.
  9. Turn off the stereo by pressing the “Power” button, then turn off the ignition.

2015 – 2020 Models

  1. Turn the ignition to the “On” position without starting the engine.
  2. Turn on the stereo by pressing the “Power” button.
  3. Press and hold the “Home” button on the touchscreen display for a few seconds until the “Home” screen appears.
  4. Navigate to the “Settings” option using the touchscreen display, then select it by tapping on it.
  5. Navigate to the “Radio” option using the touchscreen display, then select it by tapping on it.
  6. Navigate to the “Restore Factory Settings” option using the touchscreen display, then select it by tapping on it.
  7. Select “Yes” to confirm that you want to reset the stereo to its factory settings.
  8. Wait for the stereo to reset, which may take a few seconds. You should see a message on the screen indicating the reset was successful.
  9. Turn off the stereo by pressing the “Power” button, then turn off the ignition.

2007 – 2014 Models

  1. Turn the ignition to the “On” position without starting the engine.
  2. Turn on the stereo by pressing the “Power” button.
  3. Press and hold the “Settings” button on the touchscreen display for a few seconds until the “Settings” menu appears.
  4. Navigate to the “Radio” option using the touchscreen display, then select it by tapping on it.
  5. Navigate to the “Restore Factory Settings” option using the touchscreen display, then select it by tapping on it.
  6. Select “Yes” to confirm that you want to reset the stereo to its factory settings.
  7. Wait for the stereo to reset, which may take a few seconds. You should see a message on the screen indicating the reset was successful.
  8. Turn off the stereo by pressing the “Power” button, then turn off the ignition.

2002 – 2006 Models

  1. Turn the ignition to the “On” position without starting the engine.
  2. Turn on the stereo by pressing the “Power” button.
  3. Press and hold the “DISP” button until the menu appears on the screen.
  4. Use the “TUNE” knob to navigate to the “SETUP” option, and then press the “DISP” button to select it.
  5. Use the “TUNE” knob to navigate to the “RESET ALL” option, and then press the “DISP” button to select it.
  6. Use the “TUNE” knob to select “YES” when prompted to confirm that you want to reset the stereo.
  7. Wait for the stereo to reset, which may take a few seconds. You should see a message on the screen indicating the reset was successful.
  8. Turn off the stereo by pressing the “Power” button, then turn off the ignition.

1999 – 2000 Models

  1. Turn the ignition to the “On” position without starting the engine.
  2. Turn on the stereo by pressing the “Power” button.
  3. Press and hold the “AM/FM” and “SCAN” buttons simultaneously for five seconds. The stereo will display “Locked” or “Theftlock” on the screen.
  4. Wait for the stereo to display “LOC” on the screen. This may take a few seconds.
  5. Use the “MIN” and “HR” buttons to enter the four-digit code for your stereo. If you don’t have the code, you can obtain it from a Cadillac dealer or by contacting the manufacturer.
  6. Press the “AM/FM” button to unlock the stereo. The stereo will display “SEC” for a few seconds, indicating it is unlocked.
  7. Turn off the stereo by pressing the “Power” button, then turn off the ignition.

Tips

  1. If the stereo does not reset after following the instructions, try again.
  2. Contact a Cadillac dealer for assistance if the stereo still does not reset.
