There are several ways to open the trunk of your Cadillac Escalade. Find your model year and read about the options you have.
2021 – 2023 Models
Inside the Vehicle
- Locate the trunk release button on the driver’s side door panel.
- Press the button, and the trunk should open.
Key Fob
- Stand close to the trunk of your Escalade and aim the key fob toward the rear of the vehicle.
- Press the button on the key fob that is labeled with an icon of an open trunk.
Hands-Free Power Liftgate
- Have your key fob in your pocket, purse, or hands.
- Approach the car’s rear, and as you do, a projection of the Cadillac logo will appear on the ground.
- Kick your foot under the rear bumper near the center.
- Your trunk will open automatically.
2007 – 2020 Models
Inside the Vehicle
- Locate the trunk release button on the driver’s side door panel.
- Press the button, and the trunk should open.
Key Fob
- Stand close to the trunk of your Escalade and aim the key fob toward the rear of the vehicle.
- Press the button on the key fob that is labeled with an icon of an open trunk.
2002 – 2006 Models
Inside the Vehicle
- Locate the trunk release button on the driver’s side door panel.
- Press the button, and the trunk should open.

- Stand close to the trunk of your Escalade and aim the key fob toward the rear of the vehicle.
- Press the button on the key fob that is labeled with an icon of an open trunk.
Outside the Vehicle
- Locate the keyhole located on the back of the vehicle.
- Insert the key into the keyhole and turn it to the right to release the latch and open the trunk.
- Lift the trunk lid to open it fully.
1999 – 2000 Models
Inside the Vehicle
- Locate the trunk release button on the driver’s side door panel.
- Press the button, and the trunk should open.
Outside the Vehicle
- Locate the keyhole located on the back of the vehicle.
- Insert the key into the keyhole and turn it to the right to release the latch and open the trunk.
- Lift the trunk lid to open it fully.
