Cadillac Escalade: How to Open the Hood

Do you have a challenge opening the hood of your new Cadillac Escalade? Below is a simple step-by-step guide on opening your new ride’s hood.

2021 – 2023 Models

1. Locate the hood release lever on the lower left side of the dashboard, near the driver’s seat, or under the left side of the instrument panel.
2. Pull the hood release lever.
3. Walk to the front of your car, and stand facing the hood.
4. Locate the secondary hood release lever near the center of the hood.
5. Move the secondary hood release lever sideways, lifting the hood simultaneously.
6. Use the prop rod to hold the hood open.

2002 – 2020 Models

1. Locate the hood release lever on the lower left side of the dashboard, near the driver’s seat, or under the left side of the instrument panel.
2. Pull the hood release lever.
3. Walk to the front of your car, and stand facing the hood.
4. Locate the secondary hood release lever near the grille on the driver’s side.
5. Pull the secondary lever lifting the hood at the same time.
6. Use the prop rod to hold the hood open.

1999 – 2000 Models
