Buick Encore: Reset Oil Life

When your vehicle’s oil life is low or at 0%, you’ll get a “change oil soon” notification on the dashboard. Change the oil first before resetting the oil life. Fortunately, you can do it yourself without visiting your local maintenance shop.

2020 – 2022 Models

1. Press the Menu button to show the vehicle information.
2. Use the up/down arrows to scroll to the Remaining Oil Life screen.
3. Hold down the SET/CLR button until the vehicle chimes.
4. The oil life is at 100%.

2017 – 2019 Models

1. Press the Menu button.
2. Scroll down the menu to locate Info.
3. Press the SET/CLR button to select the Info menu.
4. Scroll down the menu to the Remaining Oil Life menu.
5. Press and hold the SET/CLR button until the vehicle chimes.
6. The oil life is at 100%.

2013 – 2016 Models

1. Press the Menu button to display the vehicle information screen.
2. Scroll down the menu using the up 🔼 /down 🔽 arrows to Remaining Oil Life.
3. Press the SET/CLR button.
4. Select Yes when prompted to reset the oil life.
5. The vehicle chimes indicating oil life is at 100%.
