The TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) in a PT Cruiser is designed to alert you when your tires are low on air pressure. If your TPMS light is illuminated on your dashboard, it may be time to reset the system.
2001 – 2010 Models
- Check the tire pressure in all four tires, including the spare tire, and inflate them to the recommended pressure.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Press and hold the trip odometer reset button on your dashboard.
- Release the trip odometer button once you hear the chime, which should occur after about 10 seconds.
- Turn the ignition off, and then restart the engine. The TPMS light should no longer be illuminated.
- Drive for a few miles to allow the system to re-calibrate and verify the correct tire pressure.
Note: If the TPMS light comes back on, it may indicate a problem with the tire pressure sensors or a leak in one of the tires.
