Ford Focus: How to Release/Open Fuel Door

The Ford Focus has had several facelifts over the years, including a change in the fuel door design. This post shows how to release the fuel door on the various Ford Focus models.

2012 – 2023 Models

1. With your vehicle unlocked, approach the fuel door on the rear passenger side.
2. Locate a round depression on the fuel door.
3. Place your finger on the depression and press the fuel door.
4. The fuel door should pop open.

1998 – 2011 Models

1. Ensure your vehicle is unlocked, then approach the fuel door on the rear passenger side.
2. Insert your finger into the raised part of the fuel door and pull it to release the door.
3. You have successfully opened the fuel door.
