Mazda 3: How To Open Trunk

An important tool for any Mazda 3 user is its trunk, but how does one open it? Here is a play-by-play on how to open the trunk of a Mazda 3.

2017 – 2022 Models

From Outside

1. Unlock your car using your key fob.
2. Press the electric liftgate opener outside the trunk near the center Mazda symbol.
3. Lift the liftgate once the latch releases.

The Key Fob

1. Unlock your car using your key fob.
2. Press the trunk button on the key fob to automatically open the trunk.

1. Unlock your car using your key fob.
2. Press the trunk lid release button on the instrument dash on the left-hand side of your steering wheel.

2014 – 2016 Models

From Outside

1. Unlock your car using your key fob.
