Even if your Subaru’s Starlink information is working correctly, its stereo could be having issues. Once you realize the radio is not working, the possible solution is rebooting your car. If your Subaru forester’s stereo can’t find radio channels, try to reset it through the following steps.
2019 – 2022 Models
- Locate the reset button on a Subaru Forester on the left of the steering column.
- Press and hold the reset button for about 15 seconds.
- It will turn off and turn on for a reset.
2003 – 2018 Models
- Locate the reset button on a Subaru Forester on the left of the steering column.
- Press and hold the reset button for at least 10 seconds.
- The stereo will turn off and on to reset.
1998 – 2002 Models
Try erasing the previous owner’s preset features:
- Locate and press the tune button.
- Tap the home button twice while holding the tune button.
- Select the reset option from the reboot options displayed.
- Remove the driver profile which you think might be causing problems with your stereo.
- It should now reset for you.
- You can now re-add the preset feature you may need.
Why Isn’t the Stereo System on my Subaru Forester Working?
Before you take this step, it can be helpful to understand some of the issues that could interrupt the radio. When your car runs fine, but its stereo does not go on, it might have blown a fuse. The fuse is often connected to the stereo. Once blown, it will cause an incomplete circuit, meaning its power will not reach the head unit.
