Chevy Tahoe: Reset TPMS

The TPMS light alerts you when your tire pressure is too high or too low. If your TPMS light is on, the best thing is to adjust tire pressure to the recommended level. After, follow the guide below to reset TPMS in a Chevy Tahoe.

Note: You’ll need a TPMS Relearn tool to reset TPMS in these Chevy Tahoe models.

2015 – 2022 Models

Follow the steps below:

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Turn the trip knob until you see the tire pressure menu.
  3. Press and then hold the trip button until the horn sounds twice.
  4. Activate the TPMS sensor.
  5. Starting from the driver’s side front tire, place the TPMS Relearn tool against the tire’s sidewall.
  6. Repeat the process for the other tires following this order RF, RR, and LR.
  7. Turn off the ignition.
  8. Adjust tire pressure to the level recommended on the tire placard.
  9. Verify the TPMS light is off.

2007 – 2014 Models

Follow the steps below:

  1. Turn on the ignition.
  2. Take your key fob and hold the lock/unlock button simultaneously for about ten seconds.
  3. The horn will sound twice.
  4. You will see a Tire Learning Active message on your display.
  5. Activate TPMS sensor
  6. Starting from the driver’s side front tire, place the TPMS Relearn tool against the tire’s sidewall.
  7. Repeat the process for the other tires following this order RF, RR, and LR.
  8. Turn off the ignition.
  9. Adjust tire pressure to the level recommended on the tire placard.
  10. Verify the TPMS light is off.

Tips for TPMS Trouble

Plan to reset your TPMS whenever you change or rotate your car tires. If your TPMS light turns on, you should not continue driving. Instead, safely pull over and check your tire pressure. If the light is on, but your car’s monitoring system says the tire pressure is fine, you should check the pressure of each tire manually.
