Hyundai Tucson: How to Open the Hood

Do you want to check something under the hood of your Hyundai Tucson? Opening the hood in this vehicle is a short process.

2010 – 2022 Models

1. Place the car in park.
2. Pull the hood release lever on the bottom left side of the steering wheel until the hood pops.
3. Approach the hood and lift the hood slightly to locate the secondary hood release lever.
4. Pull the lever up towards the center until it releases the hood.
5. Raise the hood.
6. Use the hood support rod to keep the hood open.

2005 – 2009 Models

1. Place the car in park.
2. Pull the hood release lever on the bottom left side of the steering wheel. The hood will slightly pop open.
3. Walk to the front of the vehicle and place your fingers below the center of the hood to locate the secondary hood release lever.
4. Push the secondary hood release lever to the left to release the hood.
5. Lift the hood.
6. Hold the hood support rod by the rubber part and hook it to the hood cover to keep the hood open.
