When a stereo system malfunctions, you can’t access radio, navigation alerts from Google, message alerts, or a Bluetooth connection. If you’re struggling with resetting the stereo system on your Chevy Equinox, use this step-by-step guide.
2019 – 2022 Models
- On the car’s display, go to the Home menu, then click on Settings.
- Scroll down until you get to Return to Factory Settings.
- Click on the option Restore Vehicle Settings or Restore Radio Settings.
- Next, hold the Home button for about ten seconds to initiate a reset.
- Check if the stereo system has reset.
2014 – 2018 Models
- Press the Home button on the car display system.
- Go to Settings, then select the Systems tab.
- At the bottom of this page, select Return to Factory Settings.
- The stereo system will revert to stock settings.
2007 – 2013 Models
- Turn on the ignition.
- Press then hold the HR button.
- Press the hold the min button.
- Check if the stereo system has reset.
