Jeep Grand Cherokee: Release/Open Fuel Door

The fuel door release button on the Jeep Grand Cherokee is not in a conspicuous location. You need to look closely and open the driver’s door to find it. Moreover, the 2020 models and above don’t have a fuel door release button.

2020 – 2022 Models

1. Park your car, turn off your engine, and unlock all vehicle doors.
2. Locate the fuel door behind the rear door on the passenger’s side.
3. Gently press and release the fuel door.
4. The fuel door will pop open, letting you fuel your vehicle.

2008 – 2019 Models

1. Park your car, turn off your engine, and unlock all vehicle doors.
2. Locate the fuel door release button below the headlight switch on the driver’s side dashboard.
3. Push and release the fuel door button.
4. The fuel door will pop open, letting you fuel your vehicle.

Alternatively, follow these steps:

1. Park your car, turn off your engine, and unlock all vehicle doors.
2. Go to the rear cargo area and remove the storage bin.
3. Pull the release cable underneath.
4. The fuel door will pop open, letting you fuel your vehicle.
