Founder of HiRide · Since 2006

I started HiRide back in 2006 after trying to figure out how to program the door locks on my 2003 Toyota Camry. Every result I found was written by gearheads in a language I couldn’t follow. I figured there had to be a better way to explain this stuff to normal people.

That’s what HiRide is: a site for the average car owner who wants to fix things themselves without needing a mechanic or an engineering degree to understand the instructions.

What HiRide Covers

HiRide publishes practical, vehicle-specific guides for everyday car and truck owners. Our content focuses on things you can actually do yourself: resetting your oil life monitor, disabling auto start/stop, diagnosing common problems, and picking the right parts and accessories for your vehicle.

Every guide is written with specific model years, part numbers, and step-by-step instructions. We don’t do vague overviews. If you drive a 2021 Ford F-150 and want to know exactly how to reset the oil life, we’ll tell you which buttons to press and in what order.

How We Write

We write like we’re explaining something to a friend, not writing a term paper. That means plain language, real recommendations, and no filler. If a product isn’t worth buying, we’ll say so. If one option is clearly better than another, we’ll pick it.

Some of our articles include affiliate links to products on Amazon. If you buy through one of those links, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It helps keep the site running.
