Jeep Wrangler: How To Set The Clock

Setting the clock in your Jeep Wrangler is required after every battery change and for some models if you travel to a different time zone. Using the section which suits your vehicle, here are the uncomplicated steps to follow to set the time on the clock.

2017 – 2023 Models

For Models Without A Navigation Screen

 

  1. With your vehicle in the ON position without starting the engine. 
  2. Push and HOLD the TIME button until the HOUR blinks.
  3. Turn the RIGHT knob to select the HOUR.
  4. Press the knob IN to highlight the MINUTES.
  5. Enter the MINUTES, then press the knob in to COMPLETE

For Models With a Navigation Screen

 

  1. Turn the ignition key to the “On” position, but do not start the engine.
  2. Locate and select the “Settings” button on the touchscreen with an icon of a gear.
  3. Use the touchscreen display to scroll to and select “Time and Date.”
  4. Use the touchscreen display to adjust the hours and minutes as necessary.
  5. Tap “Save” or “Done” to save your changes and exit.

2006 – 2016 Models

  1. Turn the ignition key to the “On” position, but do not start the engine.
  2. Locate the “Menu” button on the dashboard with the icon of three horizontal lines.
  3. Press the “Menu” button until the “Settings” menu appears.
  4. Use the arrow buttons to scroll to “Clock.”
  5. Press the “Menu” button to select “Clock.”
  6. Use the arrow buttons to adjust the hours and minutes.
  7. Press the “Menu” button again to save your changes and exit.

1996 – 2005 Models

  1. Turn the ignition key to the “On” position, but do not start the engine.
  2. Locate the clock button on the dashboard labeled “Clock” or “Time Set.”
  3. Press and hold the clock button until the time display begins to flash.
  4. Use the “Hour” and “Minute” buttons to set the correct time.
  5. Release the clock button.

How To Access The Time If It Is NOT In The Status Bar

  1. Touch CONTROLS.
  2. Touch SETTINGS.
  3. Touch CLOCK
  4. Touch the SHOW TIME IN THE STATUS BAR box.

The time will now be added to the status bar.

 

**NOTE: If you are unable to set the Time on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual. 

TIP: For vehicles with digital navigation screens: Turning on the GPS TIME will allow the system to automatically adjust your time dependent on your present location. This feature will change your clock when you cross into a different time zone.
