Jeep Wrangler: How To Reset The TPMS

If the Tire Pressure Management System on the Jeep Wrangler is not working properly, you may have to reset the system. Follow these steps to re-initialize the TPMS.

The light indicator is a notification to warn you of significantly low air pressure or high-pressure loss in your tires. Do NOT ignore this, as low pressure affects the vehicle’s overall performance, such as:

  • How the vehicle drives
  • Increases the need for fuel
  • Tire failure

2009 – 2023 Models

New or Repaired Tire

  1. Place the new or repaired tire on the vehicle.
  2. Make sure the tire is filled to the recommended PSI.
  3. Drive the vehicle for 20 minutes above 15 mph. The TPMS will automatically reset.

FAQS

Will the light go off right away?

Now the warning light should be clear. But keep in mind after the tires are inflated, the outdoor temperature affects how fast the air in the tires will adjust to the proper temperature. This could take a day or two, so give the tires time to adjust.

What if the light doesn’t go off?

If the tire pressure warning light stays illuminated past a week, you will need to have your vehicle serviced as there could possibly be a sensor issue or a tire puncture.

NOTE: If you are unable to Reset the Tire Pressure Warning Light in the Jeep Wrangler on the first try, REPEAT the steps. If you are still unsuccessful, contact the dealership for assistance or consult your vehicle user’s manual.
