Dodge Charger: How to Open Fuel Door

Having trouble finding out how to open the fuel door on a Dodge Charger? The release button is located in a different spot than most vehicles.

2020 – 2023 Models

1. Locate the fuel door on the vehicle’s side, near the rear wheel well.
2. Press the right side of the fuel door to open it.
3. Press the door again when you’re finished fueling your Dodge Charger to lock it.

2011 – 2019 Models

These models are equipped with buttons to open the fuel door.

1. 1. Locate the fuel door release button inside the vehicle on the driver’s side near the door.
   2. Press the fuel release button.
   3. The door will pop open.

2006 – 2010 Models

The models have no buttons or levers to open the fuel door from inside the vehicle.

1. Locate the fuel door on the vehicle’s side, near the rear wheel well.
2. Push the fuel door on the left side.
3. The door will pop open.

What if the fuel door won’t open?

Thankfully, most Dodge Charger models have an emergency fuel door release in the trunk. Here’s how to use it:

1. Remove the access cover on the left side inner trim panel
2. Then pull the fuel door release cable.
